Terms and Conditions for Entry/Submission
HONOR
All Film Sprint participants agree to abide by the rules of the contest as presented to them at the conclusion of the kickoff meeting.
These rules include the Code of Conduct and the commitment to perform ALL work on the film during the allowed period, with no creative work having been done on the film beforehand.
Films found to have been made outside the creative window will be disqualified, as will films that are found to have been plagiarized.
Filmmakers found to have violated the code of conduct may be ejected from the competition, or banned permanently.
COMPLIANCE STATEMENT
The Participant (“Filmmaker”) certifies that all work on their submitted film, including all writing, shooting, and editing, will take place during the official Competition Window as defined in the Official Rules, distributed at the beginning of the round.
The Filmmaker certifies that they will comply with any Health and Safety guidelines, and Federal, State, and Local guidelines related to the COVID-19 pandemic for the entirety of the competition.
LIABILITY RELEASE
Filmmaker HEREBY ASSUMES ALL OF THE RISKS OF PARTICIPATING IN ANY/ALL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATED WITH THE Film Sprint, including by way of example and not limitation, any risks that may arise from negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities being released, from dangerous or defective equipment or property owned, maintained, or controlled by them, or because of their possible liability without fault.
They certify that they physically fit, have sufficiently prepared or trained for participation in this activity, and have not been advised to not participate by a qualified medical professional. They certify that there are no health-related reasons or problems which preclude my participation in this activity.
They certify that they will comply with Federal, State and Local health guidelines regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic at all times during the competition.
They acknowledge that this Accident Waiver and Release of Liability will be used by the event holders, sponsors, and organizers of the activity in which they may participate, and that it will govern my actions and responsibilities at said activity.
In consideration of my application and permitting me to participate in this activity, Filmmaker hereby take action for myself, my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, successors, and assigns as follows:
(A) WAIVE, RELEASE, AND DISCHARGE from any and all liability, including but not limited to, liability arising from the negligence or fault of the entities or persons released, for their death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft, or actions of any kind which may hereafter occur to them including their traveling to and from this activity, THE FOLLOWING ENTITIES OR PERSONS: Film Sprint and/or their directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives, and agents, and the activity holders, sponsors, and volunteers;
(B) INDEMNIFY, HOLD HARMLESS, AND PROMISE NOT TO SUE the entities or persons mentioned in this paragraph from any and all liabilities or claims made as a result of participation in this activity, whether caused by the negligence of release or otherwise.
Filmmaker acknowledges that they are NOT responsible for the errors, omissions, acts, or failures to act of any party or entity conducting a specific activity on their behalf.
C) Filmmaker hereby acknowledges and understand that there are dangers and risks associated with the activities described above, which have been fully explained to me. They hereby agree to abide by all rules, instructions, policies and procedures imposed by the Film Sprint, and hereby expressly assume the risk of injury arising from participation in this event.
The Accident Waiver and Release of Liability shall be construed broadly to provide a release and waiver to the maximum extent permissible under applicable law.
Filmmaker CERTIFIES THAT THEY HAVE READ THIS DOCUMENT AND FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS CONTENT. Filmmaker is AWARE THAT THIS IS A RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND A CONTRACT AND CERTIFY IT OF THEIR OWN FREE WILL.
VIDEO RELEASE
Film Sprint (“Film Sprint”), with a mailing address of 345 Countryside Drive is hereby granted the non-exclusive rights to the Film, for rebroadcast, digital publication, merchandising, and exhibition. It may be modified, combined with other works, and otherwise edited, at the discretion of the Film Sprint.
In connection with the Film, the Filmmakers also grant the Film Sprint the rights of their image, in video or still, and of the likeness and sound of their voice as recorded on audio or videotape without payment or other consideration. They understand that their image may be edited, copied, exhibited, published or distributed and waive the right to inspect or approve the finished product wherein their likeness appears. Filmmaker also understands that this material may be used in diverse educational settings within an unrestricted geographic area.
Photographic, audio or video recordings may be used for the following uses: Film (movie), online / internet videos, presentations.
Filmmaker understands this permission signifies that the Film and photographic or video recordings of me may be electronically displayed via the Internet or in the public educational setting.
Filmmakers will be consulted about the use of the photographs or video recording for any purpose other than those listed above.
There is no time limit on the validity of this release nor is there any geographic limitation on where these materials may be distributed.
This release applies to photographic, audio or video recordings collected as part of the sessions listed on this document only.
The Filmmakers acknowledges that they have completely read and fully understand the above release and agree to be bound thereby. They hereby release any and all claims against any person or organization utilizing this material for educational purposes.
